Gene S. Kopp

I am an assistant professor at Louisiana State University working at the interface of analytic and algebraic number theory. I like to work on problems about analytic functions that encode algebraic or arithmetic information. I am particularly interested in explicit class field theory and the Stark conjectures. I am investigating connections between those problems and finite frame theory, quantum information theory, and quantum modular forms.

I believe that mathematics is for everyone. Mathematical knowledge is not only the foundation of science and engineering, but is also a treasure of our shared humanity. I reject gatekeeping and elitism in academic culture, and I support efforts to empower more people to have joyful mathematical experiences.
